Baby Girl R (aka BGR) is a stubborn one! She's always got her legs crossed at ultrasounds and she's "laying deep" making it hard for the tech/doc to see what they need. At Monday's appt with Dr. J (high risk doc) he said he couldn't see her heart but everything else looked great and measured on time (24 weeks 1 day) and the baby weighs 1.7 pounds!! Both the u/s tech and doc referred to BGR as a HIM!! At first I didn't question it, just kept focusing on the fact they couldn't see her heart, although we did see it beating and heard a beautiful 156 bpm. That is the best sound in the world! The tech said the baby was measuring right on time and everything still matched for an EDD of March 17 "oh isn't that St Patrick's Day? Will you be naming HIM Patrick?" I should have said, "him? we thought it was SHE?" but instead I kinda laughed and said no. Not until we were in the car did I really start to question it. Then Monday night I dreamt of a son. Tuesday I called Dr. J's office to see if they could confirm the gender but there was no mention of the gender in the report YIKES That made me a little confident that she was still a girl but I couldn't handle not knowing so I scheduled a confirming ultrasound for today. Hopefully she shows the goods because I need to decorate!!!
